How to Make a Survey With AI
To make a survey with AI, tell an AI form builder who the survey is for and what you want to learn, for example "a satisfaction survey for customers of my restaurant, about food, service and price". The AI writes the questions with fitting rating scales and open questions. You adjust it in plain words, share the link, and when answers come in you can ask the AI to summarize them: common themes, and what people liked and disliked.
Make your surveyUpdated
Step by step
- Say what you want to learn. Write the goal, not the questions: "I want to know why customers don't come back" or "rate our workshop so I can improve the next one".
- Review the questions. The AI proposes a mix of ratings (1 to 5 stars), scales (0 to 10), multiple choice, grids and one or two open questions.
- Shorten and sharpen. Surveys lose people when they are long. Ask "keep only the 6 most important questions" or "add a question about whether they would recommend us".
- Publish and share. Publish to get a link, and send it by WhatsApp, email or a text message.
- Read the answers with AI. Open Responses to see the table, download a CSV, or ask for an AI analysis of the open answers.
What makes a good survey
A good survey has one goal, five to ten questions, and asks about one thing per question. Start with the easy rating questions and end with one open question ("What one thing would you change?"). Ask about a specific visit or experience, not "in general", and say how long it takes.
The AI already follows these rules when it writes a survey, but your goal decides what matters. "Satisfaction survey" gives a generic survey; "a survey for parents after the first month of after-school care, about pickup times, food and activities" gives a useful one.
Question types the AI uses in surveys
- Rating: 1 to 5 stars for quick satisfaction questions.
- Scale: 0 to 10, for example "How likely are you to recommend us?"
- Grid: several statements rated on the same scale, in one question.
- Multiple choice and checkboxes: when the possible answers are known.
- Paragraph: for the open "why" questions.
Analyzing the results
With more than a handful of answers, reading every open answer takes time. The AI analysis groups open answers into themes and counts positive, neutral and negative ones, so you see what people say most. The numbers and choices are in the responses table and the CSV.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI write survey questions for me?
Yes. Describe who the survey is for and what you want to learn, and the AI writes the questions and answer scales.
Can AI analyze survey responses?
In Pinkit Forms, yes: the AI summarizes open answers into themes and shows how many are positive, neutral or negative.
How many questions should a survey have?
Usually five to ten. Short surveys get more complete answers.
Can respondents stay anonymous?
Yes, as long as the survey does not ask for names or contact details. Respondents don't need an account.
